Hi there! My name is Erika, a home decor enthusiast and self-taught DIY’er! My fiancé and I live in an 1,800 sq ft builder-grade home in your typical suburban neighborhood. We have spent the past year working to make this house into our home. Although the process is tedious and challenging at times, we have been pleasantly surprised at what we have been able to accomplish thus far. Over the course of this year I have loved being able to take you guys along on this journey and show you that you CAN turn your average house into a custom home that you love!
How Did Our Blissful Nest Come about?
When my fiance and I were first moving in together, I found myself searching through Instagram and Pinterest for home design inspiration. That is when I stumbled upon the DIY/ home community and instantly fell in love! Slowly but surely I found my own style and gained the confidence to tackle on my own projects. By no means am I an expert- in fact I still have a lot to learn. While at times it’s easy to get frustrated when projects aren’t going as planned (let’s be honest that’s pretty much about 99% of the time) I have learned the importance of finding beauty throughout the entire process.
I began documenting the progress of our home in October of 2020 via Instagram with the hopes that even if just one person could see that someone like me (with no design or power tool experience) can transform my home than they can too.
My goal for Our Blissful Nest is to build a community in where we can support and learn from one another. A place that motivates and inspires to create a home that you truly love- wether that be by updating a room with a DIY project or simply by using practical home decor pieces, it can be done!
